Full Body Circuit

Video: Full Body Circuit

Looking for a little guidance when it comes to working out? Try starting with this great full body circuit from Gresham’s Cameron Purington, ATC. Use the quick, yet effective routine as your daily exercise, or introduce it every couple of weeks to add variation and excitement.

During the circuit, start by performing each exercise for 30 seconds, and rest between exercises for 30 seconds (30 seconds on, 30 seconds off). At this rate you should complete the circuit in 7 minutes. Perform the circuit 3 times, giving yourself a total workout time of 21 minutes (10.5 minutes of working out, 10.5 minutes of rest).

As this becomes easier, increase the time you are performing the exercise, and decrease your rest time. Aim to perform each exercise for 50 seconds, with a 10 second rest. You are still completing each individual circuit in 7 minutes, but are working out for a longer period in each. Again, as this becomes easy, add more circuits until you are completing 5 individual circuits at 7 minutes each, for a total workout time of 35 minutes.

When doing these exercises, do not let time effect the quality of your workout. You increase the potential for injuries if you sacrifice quality in order to maximize reps. Slow and steady will win this race!
